· File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard way of transferring files across the Internet and between computers.

2) Why use ftp?

· Use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to transfer files between two computers over the internet.

3) What type of application do you need to connect to an ftp server?

· Internet Explorer or Netscape

4) What connection information or credentials do you need to connect to an ftp server?

· One must download and install an FTP Client via Internet Explorer. Then connect to a host or address, such as www2. bc.edu.
